    Bit to Do

There’s nothing like a nice, cool dip in the pool on a hot late summer afternoon with your best friend, especially when your best friend walks on four legs and communicates with a friendly bark and a wag of its tail!

The Jewish Community Center of Louisville is once again hosting its annual Doggie Dip this Sunday, September 20 for its members and their beloved canine family members. What better way to end the summer season than to let members’ dogs have a turn at the outdoor pools before they close for the year! At this one-of-a-kind dog-friendly event, the JCC will be offering its guests an afternoon of outdoor summertime fun with their pet unlike any other.

“Members always look forward to this end-of-year event,” says Johnny Kimberlin, director of Aquatics at the Jewish Community Center. “It is always great to see the dogs get in the water and enjoy themselves.”

More than 150 excited dogs and their fun-loving owners attended the JCC’s Doggie Dip last year and even more are expected this year. The small dogs in attendance will be welcomed into the center’s Seng Jewelers Wading Pool, a pool which is typically occupied by young children and features a zero-depth entryway which is sure to make adjusting to the cool water easy for tiny pets. Dogs of larger breeds can enjoy swimming in the JCC’s large family pool.

All dogs in attendance must remember to bring their current vaccination records and remain with their human companions at all times.

The Jewish Community Center is located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane. Admission to this event is $12 per dog and $10 per member. All proceeds will be donated to benefit a number of local canine charities. All Jewish Community Center members and Louisville Dog Run members are welcome to attend.
