A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a comedic musical in 200 BC Rome focusing on Hero and his desire for love of Philia.  The two meet with help from Pseudolus, a slave in Hero's household who longs for freedom.  Unfortunately, twists and turns will keep them from marriage, including an attempt to get mare's sweat.

Mike Seely directed A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, which Burt Shevelove, Larry Gelbart, and Stephen Sondheim created.

The cast for A Funny Thing includes Andrew K. McGill as Pseudolus, Trey Paris as Hero, and Olivia Sholl as Philia.  Other cast members include Craig Nolan Highley, Wayne C. Muscar, Corey Hall, Marvin Perryman, Larry Chaney, Reggie Van Stockum, Corie Caudill, Marisa Chamblee, Olivia Thompson, Jessica Godsey, Jenn Trow, Rebekah Dow, Alex Hamilton, and Ryan Ruff.

A Funny Thing is the first show of Shelby County Community Theatre's 2012-13 season.  The theatre will next present the children's show Honk Jr., which will run in September.  More information on the theatre's season can be found in this article.
