This Saturday, December 6, Nutcracker in a Nutshell takes the stage at the legendary Louisville Palace Theater. The show is a simpler, shorter version of the classic story and ballet The Nutcracker. This show is a perfect fit for families with younger children and children of all ages. Last year, I missed the show due to inclement weather, and I certainly hope this year I finally get to see this show that so many people rave about to me. I will be bringing my two children with me and we are so excited to add this holiday event to our list of tradition-making memories. Marie Gould, of Nutcracker in a Nutshell says the show is extremely family-friendly and has so much lively, action-driven experiences on stage that even the youngest of children will be "spellbound."

Nutcracker in a Nutshell brings all the beloved aspects of the traditional story to life in a one hour performance. You will see the familiarities of Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, the Rat Queen, the Land of the Sweets, and all of the delights that young children are drawn to in the story of The Nutcracker.

The performance is 1 hour in length and this weekend’s public shows are December 6 at 2pm and 7pm. Nutcracker in a Nutshell showcases the talent of children who participate in MAGIC (Making Art Grow in Children). MAGIC, Inc. “is a non-profit Pre-Professional Dance Company designed to develop, expand and promote dance education and performance opportunities for children in our community.  It is the vision for MAGIC, Inc. to educate while entertaining our growing community.  MAGIC is comprised of dancers age three to eighteen.  The programs and performances produced by MAGIC provide our young dancers the opportunity to develop and study dance in a positive and disciplined atmosphere while spreading the joy found in the art of dance.”

Tickets are $20.00 and $17.50. For more ticket information, click here, or call the box office at 502-583-4555. The Louisville Palace Theater is located at 625 S. Fourth Street. You can also find Nutcracker in a Nutshell on Facebook for updates.
