PEACC stands for Prevention, Education, Advocacy on Campus and in the Community. While PEACC may be located on University of Louisville's campus, the lesson they teach can benefit all of us.

Domestic and sexual violence is a problem that many women (and men) in America face every day. PEACC offers 24/7 help for anyone facing this issue, both a hotline, as well as a step by step instruction guide on what to do when you are the victim of a sexual crime.

This week, September 18th-September 26th, PEACC is holding the Week Without Violence.

This worldwide campaign encourages communities to think and act towards a world without violence. Activities focus on raising awareness, promoting attitude change and enabling individuals and organizations to begin positive actions towards ending violence in their communities.

Events that will be included in this event will include the Pinwheel Project, an informational about the "Circle of 6" iPhone App, the In Line Campaign, and Take back the Night.

    About Emily McGlawn

I'm a student at University of Louisville, and I'm majoring in Liberal Studies, which is a design your own degree. My program is Integrative Marketing Communications in Entertainment. I'm a junior, hopefully with only two years left, though I do plan on getting my MBA from UofL. I'm marketing intern with the IT Dept at UofL as well. My major interests include nerdy things, such as tabletop roleplaying games, board games, LARPing, and reading. Recently, I have gotten involved as a skater for Derby City Roller Girls (www.derbycityrollergirls.com). If you don't know what it is, look it up. It's the fastest growing sport in the world.
