For local music fans, Halloween weekend is shaping up to be pretty epic. You can follow up My Morning Jacket playing the KFC Yum Center on Friday with three more local rock and roll bands playing a Halloween concert on Saturday night, October 30 – and you can even wear your Freddy Krueger mask.

Dangerbird, The Bad Reeds, and Cougar Express will be playing at DeadBird Studios on 2200 Crittenden Drive, offering a night of music and a costume party for guests over 21. Cabin drummer Dave Chale runs the appropriately spooky-named DeadBird. He is also an engineer who has recorded The Bad Reeds, A Mourning Rain, 10 Ton Hype Machine, Schitzophrenifesto, and Public House, along with his own band.

They had a great turn-out for last year's show, in what is becoming a local Halloween tradition. The Bad Reeds, who play rock with shades of Blues and R&B, will co-headline the show with Cougar Express. Dangerbird will open with a set of classic rock covers.

You can visit the Facebook event page Halloween Ruckus @ DeadBird Studios for more details and to hook up with others who are planning to attend.

The show is Saturday, October 30 at DeadBird Studios on Crittenden. Admission is $5 and the doors open at 9:00 p.m. Start planning your costume now.
