Sometimes, a big giant party (with $100+ cover) isn't really what you want for New Year's Eve. Sample Louisville's unique bar scene with these NYE 2014 parties.

    Meta’s New Year’s Eve A Go-Go

    $5

    Meta

DJ Kim Sorise presents Global Grease: New Year’s Eve A Go-Go at Meta. One of the hottest new bars in Louisville, Meta is small but sparkly with a shiny penny floor and a shiny menu of gorgeous cocktails. Class it up and drink it down, for $5 a ticket this party is a steal.

    Diamond Pub’s Heavy Hitters Ball

    $25

    Diamond Pub in The Highlands

The Highland location of this beefy sports bar is featuring lots of live music: FLAW, Vilebillies, Elephant Room, Signal the Revolution, Centerfold, Naked Garden, Slinky Jenkins, among others. Tickets are $25; now that’s metal.

    Zanzabar’s New Year’s Eve Party

    $10

    Zanzabar

Love it or hate it, Zanzabar is Louisville’s hipster haven for late night dancing. Their Saturday night dance parties are legendary, and that dance party is coming the NYE 2014. Get ready for dubstep, ironic mustaches, sweaty girls doused in glitter and a heated patio rife with clove cigar smoke.

Fancy Dancy NYE at Haymarket Whiskey Bar

    Free

    Haymarket Whiskey Bar

Perhaps the only free event in town, there will be DJs, pinball, a balloon drop, live music, and performances from Citizen’s United and Team Totoro. Haymarket has one of the best whiskey selections around, and a truly interesting and unique vibe.

Monkey Wrench’s New Year’s Eve Party

    $10

    The Monkey Wrench

Certainly stop in for pre-party dinner at The Monkey Wrench, but stay for the party afterward with the OkDeejays. The Wrench has gone through a recent remodel, and the bar looks like the inside of a bourbon barrel. Get your grub and your dance on.
