Drew Estate has been focusing a lot of attention on Kentuckiana in the last year. We’ve seen events like the first annual Kentucky Fire Cured Barn Smoker, which began in Hopkinsville, Kentucky last fall. In its second year tickets sold out in 24 hours, kicking off other KFC Barn Smoker events all over the United States. Drew Estate Master Blender Willy Herrera released a special Herrera Esteli at Match just weeks ago, an event that had people lined up to purchase stacks of the specially blended cigars.
Now there will be yet another special product release right here in Louisville. Nica Rustica is one of the many lines of boutique cigars Drew Estate offers, and the new Nica Belly will be offered first here in Louisville by Cox’s Smoker’s Outlet.
According to Drew Estate, “The new 'Belly' vitola is a 7 1⁄2” x 54 belicoso and will be available in 25-ct black craft paper bundles similar to the current Nica Rustica 'El Brujito' offering. They will ship in the same fashion as the current Nica Rustica lines, in bundles as a refill to new branded display trays, which will only be available for retail use.”
It’s worth noting here that many cigar companies are “going green” by using fewer wooden cigar boxes, instead shipping bundles of their product to refill boxes and displays.
Drew Estate's descprition continues, “The blend features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andres binder and Nicaraguan fillers from the Jalapa and Estelí growing regions. The strength is medium-full and flavor notes include creamy cocoa and earth with light pepper notes on the finish.”
A release party will be held at The Water Tower on Thursday, July 30 from 7-10 p.m. Jonathan Drew will be there handing out cigars and laying down some stogie wisdom. Bundles will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Cigars for Warriors. Tickets are likely to go quickly, so click here for more information.
