The Miss Jefferson County Organization to host its annual scholarship pageant. The pageant will take place at the Ursuline Arts Center located at 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY 40206. On Saturday, October 15 at 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Admission is $15.00.

The organization is excited to be offering a second title for the first time, Miss Belle of Louisville, which will be awarded to the highest scoring contestant who is new to the MAO.  The organization is honored to be the only preliminary in the state to award such a title to encourage new participants and award further scholarship funds.  Winners will receive preparation assistance for the Miss Kentucky Pageant to be held in July, where contestants will vie for a $10,000 scholarship and the chance to compete in the Miss America Pageant.  All proceeds go towards scholarship funds that are distributed to the winners and through various other awards given throughout the evening.

The event will be hosted by Miss Kentucky 2010, Djuan Trent, who placed in the Top Ten at Miss America this past January. Event will feature performance by former professional ballet dancer and current Miss Jefferson County 2011, Amelia Gandara, as well as dancers from the Michael Thomas Dance Center.  Amelia is a University of Louisville Speed School Engineering student who captured the title in Louisville, KY this past April.  The coveted title not only provided an academic scholarship but also allowed her to reach out to the community as a Fund for the Arts ambassador as well as organize a fundraiser benefiting Blessing in a Backpack.

The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women.  Each title-holder is encouraged to represent the “Four Points” of the Miss America crown: service, scholarship, style, and success.

    About Bella Portaro

Happiness Cultivator. Blogger. Writer. Social Media and PR Maven. Dreamer. Louisville Lover. Blogger at Bella of Louisville; a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle is- by definition to me - the way in which one chooses to live their life. As I’ve entered into this chapter / book of my life with a strong understanding of who I am, lifestyle has become about the art of living well. This idea goes beyond creating a beautiful home and investing in my wardrobe. Living well means being kind, being good company, contributing to your community, and becoming a person of substance and grace. If designing a life full of substance and grace isn’t aspirational, I don’t know what else is. I love writing about events and things to do in Louisville. I hope you enjoy my posts and connect with me on social media!
