Maker's Mark After Dark With Mint Julep Tours

Mint Julep Tours is probably my favorite way to recommend people tour the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.  They are way more than just a designated driver to get you around safely in parts of the state where there are no taxis.  The busses are comfortable and afford you a great view of the countryside and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about both the current bourbon industry as well as bourbon’s rich and complicated history here in Kentucky.

They also have the ability to set up special tours, and the next one will be Maker’s Mark After Dark on January 30.  Space is extremely limited, so I highly suggest making your reservations as soon as possible.  According to the event website:

“Join us for Maker's Mark After Dark, an exclusive experience that gives you an up close look at the picturesque Maker’s Mark distillery after hours!

Your evening begins with a guided tour of the distillery grounds and a behind the scenes look at the bourbon making process from grain to bottle culminating with a specialized bourbon tasting.

Following the tour you’ll head to a barrel warehouse for Maker’s Mark inspired cocktails and southern style appetizers under the new stunning hand-blown glass ceiling by world renowned artist, Dale Chihuly.

The evening concludes with a trip to the gift shop and the opportunity to hand dip your very own bottle of Maker’s Mark in the signature Red Wax to take home as a souvenir!

Tour departs at 1:15pm from the Mint Julep Tours Gift Shop located in the Galt House Hotel Rivue Tower, 3rd Floor (140 N. 4th St. in Louisville, Kentucky 40202) and returns back at 7:30pm.”
