My staunchly Baptist and much beloved father makes an excellent bread pudding studded with raisins and sprinkled with cinnamon, but I must admit I prefer my bread pudding with a little more kick. I am usually dedicated to a low carb lifestyle, but there's just something about sweet bread soaked in Bourbon sauce I can't resist.

    1. Zanzabar's Bread Pudding

Technically, the credit for this bread pudding partially belongs to Zanzabar's glorious neighbor, Nord's bakery. This bread pudding is by far the best in town because it's made with Nord's donuts, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It's thick and moist and everything bread pudding should be except soaked in Bourbon.

    2. Dish on Market's Bourbon Bread Pudding

This thing is huge, we had three girls working on it and barely made a dent. It's a more light version of a bread pudding, but the Bourbon sauce is heady and strong and frankly, high test.

    3. Hillbilly Tea's Bourbon Bread Pudding

I always get dessert when I go to Hillbilly Tea, because all their desserts taste tender and home made. I swear they have someone's little old Grammy back their lovingly blowing kisses into the batter and stirring the bourbon sauce with a heart shaped wooden spoon. The bourbon bread pudding is a pretty small serving size, but it's just the right touch to finish a light luncheon at the downtown eatery.

Am I missing any of Louisville's bread puddings? Let me know in the comments!
