The weather may feel like March, but it's December in Louisville, and that can only mean one thing.
Back for its thirty-seventh consecutive run, A Christmas Carol returns to the Actors Theatre stage this week.
The Louisville tradition continues with Drew Fracher returning for his second stint in the Christmas Carol director's chair, and local actor William McNulty, who is reprising the role of Scrooge for the 11th time.
The original story, penned by Charles Dickens in 1843, sends three spirits to visit penny-pincher Ebenezer Scrooge in an attempt to help him see the error of his greedy ways before it is too late.
The Actors' version, adapted by Barbara Field, follows that same storyline and adds festive holiday music and visual effects to the mix.
A Christmas Carol, sponsored by Fifth Third Bank, opens for preview performances Tuesday, December 4th and runs through the 23rd. Tickets start at $24 and can be purchased online or by calling 502-584-1205. Tickets for children ages 5-14 are 50% off for selected performances.
