The Louisville Sports Commission is certainly busy this month; the organization which is famous for events like the Paul Hornung Award Banquet is setting its self up for a packed March beginning the eighth through the tenth when they host the Ohio Valley Volleyball Bluegrass Pre-Qualifiers at the Ohio Valley Volleyball Center .
The three day event opens with a Bluegrass College Showcase March 8th, where various college volleyball players and coaches will take the court to work on their play, beginning at 4:30.
This day will be followed with the Bluegrass Tournament, where area youth teams will square off against each other to crown a KIVA champion, on the 9th through the 10th.
Four days later the LSC will host their National Field Archery Event from the 14th through the 17th at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
In this four day event participants will compete in three different tournaments the World Archery Festival, the NFAA Indoor Championship, and the WAF Classic. The only qualification that entrants must have is that they are members of the NFAA.
The LSC follows that up with 1st and 2nd rounds of the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament at the KFC Yum! Center on the 22nd and 24th.
Of course, the tournament brackets haven’t been written yet, however the Yum! Center was seemingly built for events like this so it makes sense.
Continuing, the March Madness, the LSC then plays host to the Men’s Division II Elite Eight playoffs at the Kentucky Exposition Center March 28th and 30th. Again, it’s difficult to tell the teams that will make it to this point, however there has been plenty of speculation surrounding Louisville’s Bellarmine University.
