    The Louisville Originals are committed to preserving a culinary sense of place. The Louisville Originals welcomes the following new members: 60 West Bistro & Martini Bar, Seviche (Goose Creek Rd.), Varanese, and The Sweet Tooth. New members are eligible to join every six months.     “We now have 57 members of the Louisville Originals,” states Maggie de la Torre, owner of De la Torre’s and La Bodega, and president of Louisville Originals. “We’re proud to have such a large membership of excellent independent restaurateurs.”
    Membership benefits include group purchasing and marketing at reduced rates, networking, community involvement, and volunteer opportunities. The Louisville Originals funding comes in part through the sale of online discount gift certificates from member restaurants. Every quarter a limited number of gift certificates are available through the association web site.

    Additional funding comes through the sale of the Louisville Originals Gift Card. A great local gift for the holidays and any special occasion, the Louisville Originals Gift Card is accepted at member restaurants. Gift cards can be purchased online through the association web site, at all ValuMarket stores, and at the Louisville Visitor’s Center with any amount from $25 up to $1000 assigned to the card. Online orders will arrive three days after receipt of payment Bulk orders of five or more cards receive a 5% discount on the purchase. The gift cards can be used multiple times at participating member restaurants.

    Louisville Originals sponsors community activities that benefit local dining. Currently the Louisville Originals is a participating sponsor in the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Kentucky Center for the Arts, and the 2008 WorldFest.
