    • "The woman who sparked a national firestorm by recounting Rand Paul's youthful indiscretions to GQ magazine is now clarifying her account: She says she was not kidnapped nor forced to do drugs by Paul. But she reiterated other odd aspects of her earlier story, including her claim that Paul and another college friend blindfolded her, tied her up, and told her to smoke pot and worship the 'Aqua Buddha,' even if they didn't physically force her to do these things." [Washington Post]
    • "A new independent mayoral poll conducted by cn|2 Politics has Democrat
Greg Fischer ahead of Republican Hal Heiner in a close race for mayor of
Louisville. And both major party candidates say they are happy with the
results. The political website surveyed 502 likely voters in a poll
conducted by Braun Research Inc., and it shows Fischer leading by a slim
margin with 41 percent, Heiner at 34 percent and independent mayoral
candidate Jackie Green with 3 percent. It has a margin of error of 4.4
percentage points." No Nimbus? [LEO Weekly]
    • "McKenzie Mattingly, the former Louisville Metro Police detective who was forced out of the department after shooting a 19-year-old in the back and killing him during a 2004 drug sting, has been hired by the Bardstown Police Department." [Courier-Journal]
    • "A Jeffersonville, IN elected official spent the night in jail and this isn't the first time she's been in trouble with the law. Last year, the Jeffersonville City Council passed a resolution asking Clerk-Treasurer Peggy Wilder to resign after she was charged with using city credit cards for her personal use." Couldn't WAVE3 have found a better critic of Wilde than Ron Grooms, who "whom Wilder beat in the early 90s, [and] got an OWI himself when he was out of office"? [WAVE3]
