    • "The re-election campaign of Gov. Steve Beshear has raised more than $465,000 from state workers, and an employee in the Department of Juvenile Justice alleged Monday that some of his colleagues said they were pressured to give. In a letter to the chairman of the state Republican Party, Rodney Young alleged that, during the Christmas holiday season, he heard co-workers complaining that Deputy Justice Cabinet Secretary Charles Geveden was calling nonmerit employees and demanding 'significant' contributions to the Beshear campaign."     • "An investment group planning a multi-million dollar renovation of Main Street’s historic Whiskey Row has officially taken ownership of the properties. The group, led by Steve Wilson and Laura Lee Brown, closed last Friday, July 29th, on the purchase of these buildings that it plans to renovate into a mixed-use development."     • "Metro Government has fined Louisville Gas & Electric for letting coal ash leave the Cane Run Power Station and contaminate nearby homes. Two weeks ago, LG&E released test results that found ash on three area homes. Now, the city has fined the company $4,000 for violating the district’s fugitive dust rule." [WFPL]
