    • "Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway and Governor Steve Beshear are attempting to assert their role in a pending hospital merger. • "State government ended the 2010-11 fiscal year with a $156.8 million surplus — $121.8 million of which will be put into the state's ‘rainy day' fund to help guard against future revenue shortages, the Beshear administration announced Wednesday.
