    • "Trailing badly in the polls, Republican David Williams said on Monday that a decade of bad press has hurt his campaign for the state’s top office. In an interview with the Herald-Leader’s editorial board, the Republican nominee for governor said he has been unfairly portrayed as a bully by the media." [Bluegrass Politics]
    • "After an hour long and bitterly partisan debate, a Louisville Metro Council panel passed an ordinance that would exempt union contracts between the city and public workers from being subject to mandatory reports. Financial impact statements show the total cost of the contracts between unions leaders and Metro Government over an entire negotiated deal. But council Democrats who support an amendment to the law say the disclosure of those costs would harm collective bargaining deals and requests for it are being used to undermine working families. The bill was sponsored by Councilman David James, D-6, a former Louisville FOP president, and has the support of 14 Democratic lawmakers, local union leaders and Mayor Greg Fischer. [WFPL]
    • "They're expecting a record number of people to sign up for assistance paying their heating bills this year. Monday was the first day the elderly or those on disability could pre-register for their one time payment from the low income home energy assistance program. When you're living on a fixed income - finding a way to pay a monthly heating bill of a couple hundred dollars is no easy task. It's a common way of life for thousands of people in Jefferson County, like Melody Del Arroz, 'we had an almost 450 dollar utility bill last year.'" [WAVE3]
