    • Public Policy Polling just released their survey on the Kentucky races, and it looks like David Williams is no longer just trying to lose by less than Ernie Fletcher. He’s in Peppy Martin territory. Here’s the bloody carnage:
      - Steve Beshear — 55 percent
      - David Williams — 28 percent
      - Gatewood Galbraith — 10 percent [LEO Weekly]
    • "The Louisville Downtown Development Corporation says it will take four new retail anchors and a bevy of small or independent businesses to revitalize south 4th Street. The DDC unveiled its proposal for turning the blocks between Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Broadway into a shopping district tonight at the Seelbach Hotel. While the Seelbach and the Brown Hotel would act as anchors for the district, the DDC’s proposal calls for the addition of four new anchors:
      - an upscale movie theater (leather armchairs, no children allowed)
      - a 'creative co-op' that would sell art
      - an entertainment venue (planners said this would be like the House of Blues, but not necessarily an actual House of Blues franchise)
      - a recording studio" [WFPL]
    • The Louisville Metro Council Charging Committee that impeached Councilwoman Judy Green, D-1, says the embattled lawmaker and her legislative aide have ignored subpoenas for key documents in Green’s expulsion trial. The committee’s lawyer filed a motion Monday asking the Metro Council Court to compel Green and her assistant Andrea Jackson to produce e-mails and other documents that relate to the Green Clean Team and 100 Black Men, which were at the center of her two ethics violations. Attorney Gregg Hovious says Green has failed to comply with the requests filed a month ago and asks council members to find her in default. Hovious further says Jackson must provide proof to show her inability to access the document and that Green’s ouster from office should be immediate. [WFPL]
    • "The pending merger to create a new statewide Catholic health system cleared an important hurdle recently when the Federal Trade Commission determined it would not harm competition in the health-care marketplace. However, approvals by Gov. Steve Beshear’s office and the Catholic Church are still needed before the merger, which would include University Hospital and Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare, can take effect." [Courier-Journal]
    • "Kentucky Speedway will spend more than $7 million and the state of Kentucky will spend $3.6 million to improve the traffic flow coming into the Speedway. It comes seven weeks after 'Carmageddon' -- an embarrassing start to Kentucky's role in the Sprint Cup series.  An estimated 20,000 NASCAR fans missed the Quaker State 400 because they were stuck in the gridlock of interstate 71."
