The Louisville Explorer Map (published by Kephart Design, LLC.) celebrates three years of existence this week, which leads to the question (at least for me)…
What the heck is the Louisville Explorer Map?
The first time I heard of it, my mind went straight to two things:
1) The map from Dora the Explorer (So what? I might be the proud papa of toddler who thinks Dora is an actual part of the family…)
2) That scene from an early episode of Friends where Joey tries to navigate through London by physically standing on top of a ridiculous pop-up map he bought from a souvenir vendor.
Fortunately, the Louisville Explorer Map is neither of these things. Instead it is a map of the great city of Louisville that is sponsored by local businesses and highlights attractions, landmarks etc. for those new to or just unfamiliar with what Louisville really has to offer.
See for yourself what the map can do by picking up a physical copy at the Louisville Visitors Center or one of the many other distribution points throughout town or by clicking over to louisvilleexplorermap.com.
Oh… and happy birthday, Map.
