When moving to a new city one of the most confusing things is generally how to get around. Considering Louisville is a relatively small city, it has five major interstates. Four out of the five have basically the same numbers, which makes things more confusing. In an effort to make things simpler, two of the interstates have nicknames...honestly that makes it more difficult for me because then I have to learn and remember both the names and numbers. Therefore, I devised a quick cheap sheet. I might be the only one who needs it, but then again roadways easily confuse me
I-65 = the one that runs north and south between Indiana and Tennessee
I-265 = "Gene Snyder" aka the outer circle on the map (not to be confused with the Outer Loop which is a different road in Okolona)
I-64 = the one that goes all the way to Lexington aka the pretty one with the tunnel
I-264 = "Watterson" aka the inner circle on the map
I-71 = the one that takes you to Cincinnati
Where I'm from originally, in Western New York, everyone puts a "the" in front of the interstates. A Louisville example would be, instead of taking 65 to 264, you would take "the 65" to "the 264". It's a regional quirk that isn't shared by Louisville.
