I have heard through the Facebook grapevine that TWO of Louisville's splash parks are turning on the water and splashing fun today, Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. That's Oaks and Derby Day, folks!

With forecasted temperatures at high 70s to 80 degrees, Derby Day might pan out to be warm enough to enjoy the water. With kids though, they don't mind if it still feels cool. They love to splash whenever, wherever! And The Parklands of Floyds Fork Marshall Playground and Sprayground already announced the water is on according to their Facebook page, and the Skyview Splash Park in Jeffersontown will have it all ready for them come Saturday morning. Skyview will be open daily from 10am-9pm starting May 2.

If you're not planning on being at the track on Derby Day, why not head over to one of these splash parks and get wet? Have your own Derby party at the park! Chances are, no matter what's going on at Churchill Downs on Saturday, there will be plenty of families and kids enjoying this festive start to summer around Louisville. Families love the splash parks and spraygrounds that the parks provide.

According to Louisville Metro Parks Facebook page, a reader asked when the Metro spray/splash areas will open; their response was approximately mid-May.

Enjoy the sunny skies and flying water this weekend.
