We see you appreciate a good vintage. But there comes a time to try something new. Click here to head over to the redesigned Louisville.com. It's where you'll find all of our latest work. And plenty of the good ol' stuff, too, looking better than ever.

An excerpt from an e-mail I received yesterday:

So, what are you doing March 30-April 4? Any interest in traveling to Rome with me to the [NAME OF LUXURY HOTEL REDACTED]? A little late, but we just received approval to move forward with a press trip and I thought I should reach out to you to see if any of your outlets might be interested in a story. We’ll depart the U.S. on March 30 and arrive the morning of the 31. We’ll have an itinerary that will allow you to experience all the highlights of the hotel, but also have some free-time for you to do your own thing in Rome. Of note will be dinner at [REDACTED] the hotel’s 3-Michelin starred restaurant, which we rarely assist with media reservations.

In addition to being the editor-in-chief of this site, I (pictured above, far left at the Dead Sea) am also a travel writer. On March 21 from 12-1 p.m. at Louisville Public Media (619 S. 4th St.), I'll be sharing my experience and insights, whatever they may be, about travel writing at a lunch sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists, Louisville Pro Chapter. Tickets are $13–$20—none of which goes to me, but part of which goes toward the included box lunch from City Cafe—and are available at the event's website.

Not sold? Here's a video tour I made of my room at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street when I was there in December:
