    The Leadership Louisville Center, an organization "dedicated to developing a diverse group of leaders who serve as catalysts for a stronger community, just announced both its new speaker series and that it is accepting applications for its leadership training program.100 Wise Women series speakers announcedCapt. Karen Lee, director of airline safety for UPS airlines, will speak about leadership at 8 a.m., May 20 as part of Leadership Louisville's 100 Wise Women series. The event will take place at the University of Louisville's University Club.Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.leadershiplouisville.org. Lee is a pioneer in the aviation industry, having won the National Aeronautic Association's Katharine Wright Award (named after Orville and Wilbur's sister who funded her brothers' experiments) for her vision "transforming the national air transportation system."After Lee's presentation, group conversations will take place among tables of young women, who are paired with one of the 100 wise women Leadership Louisville has chosen. Conversations center around the presentation and allow the women to foster a comfortable, mentoring relationship.Other upcoming keynote speakers are

    Every event in the series, which began in 2007, has been sold out.Applications for Ignite Louisville Class of 2010 are being acceptedIgnite Louisville, a six-month program that develops the key components of leadership in young professionals, is now accepting applications for its class of 2010.The course is geared to high potential professionals (and you can't just say you are high potential; you will need two recommendations if you are applying) between 25 and 39 years old and covers personal vision and planning, team leadership, communication and critical thinking.The Ignite Louisville class meets on Thursdays from October 2009 to April 2010.Applications will be accepted through May 18.
