La Coop Bistro a Vins is still taking reservations for their New Year's Eve dinner, which will be their last hurrah. There will be two seating times (6 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and the five-course meal of La Coop favorites will cost $60 per person. They'll be open through the end of the year with regular hours, except for holidays, of course.

Business First reported the closing initially, noting that the restaurant management company that owns La Coop, Falls City Management Company, (which also owns Doc Crow's) has a number of larger projects coming down the line. One of these projects seems to be taking over the former Tumbleweed Location in Waterfront Park

Insider Louisville reported the closing was partially due to financial reasons (the restaurant wasn't unprofitable, but was too labor-intensive to justify the money it was making), among other things.

A new restaurant operator will take over the highly-covered NuLu space on January 1, 2015. In the meantime, don't forget to call 410-2888 to make your reservation and try some of Chef Bobby Benjamin's fantastic French food.
