La Coop Bistro a Vins [4] is still taking reservations for their New Year's Eve dinner, which will be their last hurrah. There will be two seating times (6 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and the five-course meal of La Coop favorites will cost $60 per person. They'll be open through the end of the year with regular hours, except for holidays, of course.
Business First [5] reported the closing initially, noting that the restaurant management company that owns La Coop, Falls City Management Company, (which also owns Doc Crow's) has a number of larger projects coming down the line. One of these projects seems to be taking over the former Tumbleweed Location in Waterfront Park [6].
Insider Louisville reported [7] the closing was partially due to financial reasons (the restaurant wasn't unprofitable, but was too labor-intensive to justify the money it was making), among other things.
A new restaurant operator will take over the highly-covered NuLu space on January 1, 2015. In the meantime, don't forget to call 410-2888 to make your reservation and try some of Chef Bobby Benjamin's fantastic French food.
