Nobody cooks like the French. And nobody in Louisville does French food quite like La Coop: Bistro à Vins on East Market St. in the heart of NuLu. Since we will all be going on a diet once January 1, 2013 rolls around anyway, perhaps you should make your reservation to treat your taste buds to a tantalizing tasting menu from La Coop on New Year's Eve!

The menu is extremely tempting: some samplings include “Bacon and Eggs”: pork belly (like a super thick, soft bacon) poached egg, lemon pear butter, Bourbon cured spoonfish caviar and black truffle shavings. “Beef Tenderloin Confit” with seared duckfat cured beef tenderloin, butternut squash ravioli, Brussels sprout trifecta, caramelized truffled onion and bone marrow jelly sounds sinfully succulent. The end of the meal sounds best to this gourmand: a cheese plate, and “Pot de Crème Brulee”: a chocolate pot de crème, crème brulee with pistachio cream. The full menu can be found on La Coop's facebook page, there are four other courses besides the ones I've hinted at here, all equally decadent.

The cost is $75 per person, plus tax and gratuity of course, and you can add $25 to add beer pairings for your eight course meal, or $50 to add wine pairings. Reservations are available at 6:00p.m. And 8:30 pm on December 31, 2012, and can be made by calling 502-410-2888. Happy New Year!
