If you haven't been to the Frazier History Museum to see Diana: a Celebration, you better visit the website and get your tickets; the acclaimed exhibit ends on January 13. Perhaps you were lucky enough to score tickets to the Princess Tea Party on December 30. The event has sold out, but there's no reason your little princess wouldn't like to visit the exhibit without the fanfare of tea and sweets. Diana's diamond tiaras and famous bridal gown should delight all ages. Because of the popularity of the exhibit, the Frazier Museum recommends that you purchase your tickets online or by calling 888-71-TICKETS.
If you visit with the kids before school starts again, you can also enjoy Holidays Around the World, an extravagant display of Christmas trees that celebrates Louisville’s multicultural communities. It runs through January 3. This temporary display is included with your admission.
This link will answer all your admission and hours questions, but basically, the museum is open Monday from 9:00-5:00 and on New Year’s Day at 10:00 am. Adults are $10.50, seniors are $8.50, children 5-14 are $6, and kids 4 and under are free. Teachers and members are free too! Diana: a Celebration tickets are $21.50 for adults and $10 for children ages 4-14; children 3 and under are free.
And if you're still looking for some activities for your children the first week of 2013, the Frazier Museum is hosting three winter break day camps on Wednesday the 2nd, Thursday the 3rd, and Friday the 4th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm. There is also an extended care option from 4:00-5:30 pm. Children will learn about year-end and new year's celebrations and traditions around the globe. The camp costs $45 per day for non-members and $35 for members. And if you have some extra holiday cash on hand and the yearly events and exhibitions at the Frazier Museum interest you and your family, they are offering a great combo deal for new members only. For $95, you receive a family membership and one day of camp.
