Steve Kazee, originally from Ashland, Kentucky, and a graduate of Morehead State University, has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for the 2012 Tony Awards.

Kazee has been nominated for his role (Guy) in the musical, Once, which has also been nominated for ten other awards, including Best Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Actress in a Musical.

The show, based on the 2007 Academy Award winning film of the same name, follows an Irish musician (Guy) who falls in love with a Czech immigrant on the streets of Dublin. As a whirlwind week progresses, their musical collaboration turns into a complicated romance.

Kazee was also recently nominated for Drama League and Critics Circle Awards for his Once performance.

The 66th annual Tony Awards will be broadcast on CBS at 8:00pm on Sunday, June 10.
