Steve Kazee [4], originally from Ashland, Kentucky, and a graduate of Morehead State University, has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for the 2012 Tony Awards.
Kazee has been nominated for his role (Guy) in the musical, Once [5], which has also been nominated for ten other awards, including Best Musical, Best Choreography, and Best Actress in a Musical.
The show, based on the 2007 Academy Award winning film [6] of the same name, follows an Irish musician (Guy) who falls in love with a Czech immigrant on the streets of Dublin. As a whirlwind week progresses, their musical collaboration turns into a complicated romance.
Kazee was also recently nominated for Drama League and Critics Circle Awards for his Once performance.
The 66th annual Tony Awards will be broadcast on CBS at 8:00pm on Sunday, June 10.
