After a one-week hiatus the Louisville.com’s Jefferson County High School Football Power Rankings are back.

And we pick up where we left off, with Male at the top.

The Bulldogs are coming off a pair of huge victories. First, they handed Trinity a rare home loss with a 35-34 double-overtime triumph on Oct. 17. Then Male outlasted its archrival, beating Manual 28-21 this past Friday night.

Here’s a quick look at this week's entire Top 10:

    1. Male (9-0) - The six-time state champion Bulldogs, whose last state title came in 2000, will try for their first undefeated regular season since 2006 Friday night, when they play at fellow unbeaten Christian Academy of Louisville. Last ranking: 1.

    2. Christian Academy of Louisville (9-0) - The Centurions, who are coming off a 17-0 win over DeSales on Oct. 17, boast the best scoring defense (5.3 points per game) in all six classes. That D will be put to the test, though, Friday night, when they host No. 1 Male. Last ranking: 5.

    3. St. Xavier (6-3) - The Tigers, who have clinched the No. 2 seed in 6-A’s “Super District,” are coming off a 28-7 triumph over Manual. They close out their regular season Friday night, at Cincinnati St. X. Last ranking: 2.

    4. Trinity (5-4) - The Shamrocks, who haven’t played since that double-OT loss to Male, finish their regular season Friday night at powerhouse Cincinnati Moeller. Last ranking: 3.

    5. Manual (6-3) - The Crimsons started the season 6-0, but have dropped their last three games - to No. 4 Trinity, No. 3 St. X and No. 1 Male. Manual, which has averaged just 10.3 points in its three-game losing streak, closes out its regular season Friday night against Eastern (2-7). Last ranking: 4.

    6. DeSales (8-1) - The Colts bounced back from their 17-0 loss to CAL with a 49-13 victory at Thomas Nelson on Friday night. They’ll try to keep that momentum going Friday night, when they play at 6-A Southern (2-7). Last ranking: 6.

    7. Iroquois (8-1) - The Raiders, who rank fourth in rushing and third in rushing defense in 5-A, are coming off a 38-13 win over Jeffersontown this past Friday night. They close out their regular season Friday night at Atherton (2-7). Last ranking: 7.
