One of America’s most beloved jazz standards is “My Funny Valentine” and Louisville’s beloved comedy club, Comedy Caravan, is hosting an evening of jazz on Monday. Coincidence?

Louisville’s Ok Kino, Sandpaper Dolls and the Bobby Falk Group bring all facets to the Night of Jazz at Comedy Caravan, 1250 Bardstown Road in the Mid-City Mall. Funky fivesome Ok Kino embrace their experimental urges while spinning a breakbeat soundtrack as a backdrop for a reinvented jazz style. Miss Suki, Miss Amber and Miss Rebecca are the stunning Sandpaper Dolls, a trio whose a cappella vocal stylings are reminiscent of Regina Spektor, Sixties girl groups and more traditional female jazz singers that will make you forget that the Caravan is now smoke free. Finally, the percussionist Bobby Falk leads his six-man outfit in a set of smooth jazz and neo-soul instrumentals.

Doors open at 7:15 for the 7:30 show and cover is $8; call 459-0022 for tickets or more information.
