    Bit to Do

Indulge in Chocolate Dreams fundraiser for Valentine's Day
    Print this page

With more than 25 participating entrants serving up their most luscious chocolate dishes in hopes of securing top honors in five categories, this is one fundraiser that will be as beneficial for the attendees as it is for the receiving organization.

GuardiaCare’s Chocolate Dreams is touted as ‘an Evening of Decadent Bliss,’ and it is sure to fit the bill, with premier chefs from top area restaurants, including Zi Olive, Corbett’s, Volare, Buck’s, Eiderdown and Varanese, serving up chocolate treats.

Samplers will be given free rein to taste, rank, and even vote for their favorite creation in the People’s Choice Award, all while being entertained by the music of Nervous Melvin and the Mistakes and emcee Dawn Gee of WAVE-3 TV.

And if the chocolate wasn’t enticing enough, GuardiaCare has compiled items for a live and silent auction including:

    • Tickets to the 139th Oaks and Kentucky Derby
    • Autographed sports memorabilia from Rick Pitino, Charlie Strong, Bobby Petrino, Ray Harper and Scott Davenport
    • UPS Flight Simulator
    • Vacation for four at Omni Resort, Cancun, Mexico
    • Tickets and gift certificates to local hotels, restaurants and attractions

GuardiaCare is a non-profit organization that provides adult day programming and other services for seniors and adults with disabilities, including financial management and guardianship. For over 40 years, they have worked to prevent elder abuse and protect one of society’s most exploited groups.

GuardiaCare’s Chocolate Dreams fundraising event takes place Monday, February 11, from 6-9pm at the Marriott Louisville East, 1903 Embassy Square Blvd., 40299.

Tickets are $60 per person or $110 per couple and include chocolate samplings, light hors d’oeuvres and wine. They may be purchased online. Call 502-585-9949 for more information. GuardiaCare is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
