Last night brought major talent to The ‘Ville.

The Sea The Sea kicked off their Love We Are We Love tour less than a month ago, and decided to stop in Louisville on the way. The soft-spoken duo Mira and Chuck gave an intimate crowd an amazing and engaging show, sharing anecdotes that inspired songs and more.

These songs were tender and sweet, seamlessly weaving together themes of love and nature. Their lyrics were thoughtful and personal, yet accessible. The couple’s voices melded together to form beautiful and complex harmonies that left you wanting more.

It was The Sea The Sea’s first time in Louisville, and we hope they come back soon. Until then, check out their website and buy their debut album, Love We Are We Love!

Joining The Sea The Sea was North Carolinian trio Mipso, whose performance amounted to an onslaught of gorgeous three-part harmonies and earnest country-inspired lyrics. Guitar, bass, and mandolin may be a tried and true combo, but Mipso’s mastery of their instruments allowed for a fresh, exciting exercise in genre-bending.

Thanks to both of the bands for coming out to Louisville, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for these two up-and-coming groups.
