Down! Set! And they’re off!
You may not be used to seeing those words strung together, but you will the weekend of Nov. 13-14. That’s because the University of Louisville and Churchill Downs are partnering for “Pigskins & Ponies Presented by Kroger,” a special ticket package for the second weekend in November.
For $25 football and horse-racing fans can purchase a limited ticket package that will include a seat in the new upper deck of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium for the Cardinals’ Nov. 13 football game (a kickoff time has yet to be announced) against Big East Conference rival South Florida and a reserved seat (with racing program) the next day on Millionaires Row or Skye Terrace for the races, which are set to start at 12:40 p.m.
The package also includes a commemorative “Pigskins & Ponies” sleeved fleece blanket in Cardinal red that will bear the logos of Churchill Downs’ Twin Spires and UofL football. Fans will able to pick up their sleeved fleece blankets beginning Nov. 10.
The weekend will also include a drawing at halftime of the USF-UofL game for a box seat to the 2011 Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby. As well as opportunities for fans to participate in on-track drawings before each of Sunday’s 10 races for tickets to 2011 UofL home football games.
The limited “Pigskins & Ponies Presented by Kroger” ticket package are available for purchase now through Churchill Downs’ online ticket office.
