With confirmation last week that the NFL pre-season would officially begin on-schedule, quickly teams were given the green light to tend to trades and the free-agent wire.

For former Louisville quarterback, Adam Froman this wait seemed interminable, but his patience was finally rewarded when the free- agent was signed on to a deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

In recent years the Falcons have been a powerful force in the NFL, frequently leading the NFC, with their power driven workhorse style Froman should be a solid pick for the franchise.
Froman was in good Card company coming from the Free Agent wire, joining him in Georgia is wide receiver Doug Beaumont.

Meanwhile, Louisville tight end Cameron Graham inked a deal with the Tennessee Titans.  Honestly, this pick could be solid however so much of a tight end’s job is in direct correlation with the quarterback, so until the Titans resolve their QB issues this could be a tough job for any prospect.  Then again, it could prove to be a blessing for Graham as whatever QB suits up more than likely won’t be trying any long passes due to the uncertainty this means short screen passes to the TE will be a frequent order.

In addition Brandon Heath will be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer this season; the Bucs have been up and down in recent years so this could be a coin flip of sorts.

On the other side Kentucky quarterback, Mike Hartline will be heading up the road to play with the Indianapolis Colts, backing up Peyton Manning.  This could be very good for Hartline if he picks up some tips from the veteran Manning for play in the pros, plus Hartline has already proved that if you put good receivers around him he can often get something going so to speak, and that’s something Indy can offer.

I guess the only thing left to say is, “Are you ready for some football?”

    About Dave Rose

Recently, I completed a Masters degree in Education and have been writing for Louisville.com for over a year now, prior to that I published a humor book for young adults titled Wearing Socks with Sandals, a book about getting through high school, college, and all of the requisite problems that present themselves during that time. Currently, I spend much of my time in classroom settings as well as writing in various areas. Of course, I’m a big sports fan and love music and film, and love finding new stuff around Louisville.
