This week’s featured pets Beeker, Belize, Bert, Fala, Henry, and Homer are awaiting their forever homes at Louisville Metro Animal Services. They are just a few of many at the shelter in need of adoption. Are any of this week’s featured pets the one for you?
Fala is a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix. She is a big girl, strong and loyal and true. Fala has some energy and she loves to play with people and other dogs. She also appreciates a good scratching. That's good to know because her coat is thick enough she'll need regular brushing, but we bet she'll enjoy that quiet time with you. Fala likes to be on the go and will be a great walking companion. Anatolian Shepherds are known for being steadfast and protective - perfect companions for exploring new neighborhoods. Henry is a 2-year-old Black Labrador Retriever. He's a very friendly, social boy, which isn't surprising at all to Lab fans. Henry loves a good all-body scratch and will hunker down into the "Let's Play" position to let you know he likes it - and he'd like to play. He also rolls over for a belly rub when you approach him. He's a silly, loving boy. Henry has a funny coat in that it looks like he has a permanent cowlick down his back. Or maybe it's better described as a Mohawk haircut down his spine. Anyone else thinking perfect for walking down Bardstown Road in the Highlands. One volunteer noticed that Henry has a white marking on his chest that looks sort of like the UofL "L". Get some red accessories and he's ready for game day! Any Highlands-loving Cards fans interested? Henry is up-to-date on his routine shots, neutered, and has a short black coat, and is house trained. Homer is a one-year-old Rottweiler and he's pretty magnificent. He's friendly and outgoing and likes to be outside with people. He enjoys walks but will need a little work on the leash because he can pull pretty hard. Not surprising, because he's a strong, magnificent boy. One of our Rottweiler-loving volunteers thinks Homer just needs someone to throw a ball to him and give him good scratching and he'll be in Rottweiler Heaven. Homer is a people-loving dog and will lean into your legs when he stands next to you, a sign of dogs that are bonded to humans. Homer is a good ol' boy looking for a good home. Perhaps you can help? Hello. My name is Beeker. I may be small for my age but I make up for it with my love of fun! I like to run, run, run really fast and play with little toys that roll. I’ll chase one if you throw it for me. I love to play, but I really want someone to cuddle me. Everyone at the shelter is really nice but all I want is a mommy or daddy to cuddle with when I’m tired. It would be awesome if you stopped by and meet me. My foster mom tells me I’m really soft, lots of fun, and that I have a sweet purr that will make you smile! . Belize is fun to be around because she takes it easy and enjoys her day. And she absolutely loves catnip!
