    Give-a-Jam To End Homelessness

The 4th annual "Give-A-Jam to End Homelessness" is coming up this Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. This fundraiser, benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless, is a great way to enjoy local food and live music while also helping out people in need.

Grammy-Award winning country and bluegrass artist Tim O'Brien is headlining the event, and like all the other artists and restaurants, he is donating his time and talents for the cause. Admission is $20 (or $25 with a t-shirt), and includes the concert plus 10 food and drink tickets. Local restaurants serving up soups and stews include Crave Café and Catering, Crescent Hill Craft House, El Camino, The Irish Rover, Rye, Uptown Cafe, and Zoup!

The musical lineup features some of Louisville's favorite bands and musicians, including Appalatin, The Bibelhauser Brothers, Tyrone Cotton, John Gage, Hound of the Buskervilles, Justin Paul Lewis, Cheyenne and Julia of Maiden Radio, Dick Sisto, Alex Wright, and Small Time Napoleon.

To make sure all proceeds go to the Coalition for the Homeless, the event will be staffed completely by volunteers with sound and lighting equipment provided by vendors at no charge. "Give-A-Jam to End Homelessness" is the brainchild of John and Natalie Harris, the husband and wife team who are organizing the event along with the help of many friends and supporters. John is the Executive Director of the Clifton Center, and Natalie is the Executive Director of The Coalition for the Homeless. The event has raised over $43,000 in its first three years for the Coalition's Rx: Housing campaign, which aims to house the most vulnerable homeless persons on the streets of Metro Louisville. Since its inception in 2011, one hundred and fifty people have been moved from the streets into housing.

Tickets for the evening, which also includes a silent auction and cash bar, may be purchased online at the Clifton Center, at Carmichael's Book Store (2720 Frankfort Avenue), or at the box office on the evening of the event.

About the Coalition for the Homeless

The Coalition for the Homeless, located at 1300 S. 4th Street, Suite 250, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to prevent and eliminate homelessness in Louisville. The Coalition has a three-pronged approach to this mission: advocacy, education, and coordination of their 29 member agencies who provide a variety of services to the homeless throughout the city.
