The hulking shoes that Marlon Brando once filled will tread the boards and yell for Stella starting tonight. That’s right, the Louisville Repertory Company will begin its production of A Streetcar Named Desire at the Kentucky Center. They will tell Tennessee William’s classic story about the desperation of cultural change, the stark loneliness of adulthood, and the sprawling destruction of the old Southern lifestyle. Blanche Dubois, Stanley, and Stella will live the great human drama of what happens when all the passion that lies just under the surface starts to boil over.
The production will run in the MeX Theater in the Kentucky Center June 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 16th, at 8:00 with a matinee showing on Sunday, the 17th. Tickets are $16, and $11 dollars for students. The Monday, June 11th, showing will be an ‘industry night’ affair, with all tickets only $11.
