The Galt House Hotel recently announced that it will be presenting an unusual Christmas event, called KaLightoscope Christmas. Throughout the hotel, the event will feature several holiday events and activities.

According to a recent press release from the Galt House Hotel, the highlight of the event will be the debut of the KaLightoscope - "a spectacular walk-through Christmas luminary experience never before seen in the United States."

The walk-through will be made up of large luminaries, which were handcrafted by more than 30 artisans from Zigong, China.

According to the press release, the 16,000 square foot KaLightoscope event will feature a variety of holiday-themed sections. More than six miles of colored and patterned fabrics and four miles of rope and internal lighting will adorn the individual luminary sculptures, ranging in size from 15'-17' tall and 9'-20' wide.

The grand opening will be held at 8 am on Thursday, Nov. 18. Mary Moseley, president and CEO of the AI J. Schneider Co., parent company of the Galt House, will hold a formal ribbon cutting.

According to Moseley, "KaLightoscope Christmas will be a spectacular event that will bring to life the sites and sounds of the Christmas season in a way never before seen. It's sure to excite attendees of all ages and will create lasting memories for years to come.

Tickets and special packages are available now and range from $14.95 to $17.95 per person.

"Colors of the Season (a new dinner show created for the KaLightoscope)", Santa's Party Palooza (a breakfast with santa), Mistletoe Marketplace (featuring items from Louisville stores) and the worlds largest, life size Gingerbread Village will also be showcased over the next month-and-a-half.
