Ordering pizza in the middle of the week just got a little more guilt-free with Spinelli’s Pizzeria. On Wednesday, May 6th, the pizzeria’s downtown location will be hosting a special fundraising event in honor of one of their own employees, Josh Lewis, who has recently suffered some on-the-job injuries.
According to Spinelli’s Facebook page, Lewis was the victim of a recent carjacking that occurred while he was making a routine pizza delivery to Norton Hospital downtown. Lewis’ family currently resides in Detroit, Michigan and has traveled to Louisville to be with him during his recovery. And like many local businesses in Louisville, the employees of Spinelli’s consider themselves to be a family. So naturally they’re lending a helping hand to their injured brother.
Since the first location on Baxter Avenue opened in September of 2004, Spinelli’s Pizzeria has been making a name for itself in Louisville’s food culture. Unlike other pizza restaurants, Spinelli’s focuses on the style of classic east coast pizza. They’ve also been a true game-changer in Louisville’s food delivery service with their extra late hours and multiple locations. They can deliver a pizza almost anywhere in the city at almost any time of the day or night. The local chain has been supporting our appetites for years and now’s our chance to give back.
Spinelli’s downtown location will donate 50% of all its profits on Wednesday, May 6th, to Josh Lewis and his family in their time of need.
