    Bit to Do

The Kentucky Derby is an internationally famous event that draws many from across the states and across the world, and many organizations take advantage of this publicity spot light to do some good. This year, Creative Vibrations presents the Fourth Annual Oaks Eve Bash benefit party, sponsored by Citizens Union Bank.  This event is a semi-public party that hosts approximately 500 people to raise money for The Dream Factory and Racing for Corey charities. Most attendees receive special invites for the $100-per-person evening, but some tickets will still be available that night.  “The Crashers” and “Under the Sun” will perform at the party, and a silent auction will be held to benefit the charities.

The Dream Factory is like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, except it does not only focus just on children with life-threatening illnesses.  This Kentucky-based organization grants wishes to chronically ill children ages 3 to 18, as well as to those that have critical conditions. The Racing for Corey was created in memory of Corey Hanchar, a young Indiana boy that passed away from cancer, but not before he received the opportunity to be a racecar driver from the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund. Today, Corey’s foundation raises money to be donated to various other wish-granting organizations.  Creative Vibrations is no stranger to creating successful fundraiser parties as their focus lies with creating events to raise money and awareness for charities.

Keeping with the racecar and derby themes, the Oaks Eve Bash will display European racecars and classic motorcycles, as well as derby memorabilia – an interesting juxtaposition between horses and horsepower. The event takes place on Thursday, April 29th, starting at 7:30 p.m. at the newly renovated Crowne Plaza Hotel, and offers free parking, an appetizer buffet, and cash bar.

For those not partaking in the festivities, you'll be able to follow the excitement up-to-the-minute via Twitter by following Louisville.com at louisvillecom. For more information on the Racing for Corey and The Dream Factory charities, as well as on Creative Vibrations, please visit the links below.
