Christmas is only a few days away, and while you could try your luck at Walmart or Macy’s, you could also hit up The Flea Off Market this weekend, located in the parking lot of Fresh Start Growers' Supply at 1007 E. Jefferson St. near Baxter Avenue. The monthly event was due to have already occurred, taking place on the second Saturday of every month, but was postponed due to weather. As with the previous Flea Off in November, however, attendees will be able to shop, eat and drink on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Want to know what to expect this month? Need a Christmas tree? Fresh Start will have trees for sale, just in case paying $300 for one at Sears was a bit too much to handle. As for gifts to put under your new tree, plenty of handmade items will be available for purchase, including musical instruments, soaps, jewelry, handmade and vintage clothing and accessories, plus plenty of arts and crafts to give and to display. If you need any ingredients for your holiday goodies, farm-fresh goods will be offered, along with the usual cool and unusual items offered at flea markets.

If shopping isn’t your bag, there will also be live music and tarot readings, while 10 local eateries will keep you warm with burgers, tacos, barbecue, hot teas, hot toddies and more. To keep your exterior warm, there will be fire pits and heaters, along with smores and warm cocktails. Finally, to keep your heart warm, Flea Off will be holding a food drive to benefit Americana Community Center and Catholic Charities, where attendees will be encouraged to give canned or boxed goods.
