This Saturday, September 22, 2012, is the 7th annual FEAT Outrunning Autism 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run at Westport Village.
In addition to the run and walk, there will also be family-friendly activities (such as face painting and a Moon Bounce-the exacta of fun kid activities!), refreshments, balloons, music and special offers from the stores in Westport Village.
Online registration is no longer available but for those who would still like to run/walk, you can print out the registration form on the event website and bring that, along with a check for $30, to the race on Saturday.
Registration the day of the race starts at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 8:15. The race will begin at 8:30, sharp, and the presentation of awards is set to begin at 9:30. This year, all kids who run/walk will receive a ribbon.
FEAT (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) was created “for families, by families” and offers support, education and programs for children with autism and their families and works with other agencies that have an autism focus. The funds raised from Outrunning Autism goes to support programs such as sports and social activities for children with autism as well as their camp for teens, Dreams in Motion.
