    Bit to Do

Today's social media feeds have been filled up with civil rights news, as four states upheld bans on same-sex marriage. Yesterday (November 7, 2014), the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld bans in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee, sparking outrage and a number of protests from the LGBT community and its allies.

Louisville played host to one such protest at noon today, November 7. Organized by the Fairness Coalition, the rally included about 100 protestors who met at 6th and Jefferson -- the location of Louisville's district court and the heart of Louisville's judicial system.

This decision by the 6th Circuit is widely being speculated as the event that will compel the U.S. Supreme Court to take same-sex marriage bans under judicial review and come to a conclusive, federal ruling on the issue of gay marriage.
