Imagine a romantic dinner date in a dimly-lit restaurant. You’re seated across the small table from your sweetheart, separated only by the single glowing candle featured as the centerpiece atop the clean white cloth. The waiter arrives to deliver your dishes, and the delicious meal set in front of you is… a burger?

Yes, Louisville, it is possible to be romantic with burgers. Mussel & Burger Bar proves it. Whether you’re a burger junkie and you’ve already sampled every juicy option on the menu - along with the restaurant’s impressive variety of succulent mussels – or you’re not sure what to expect from this one-of-a-kind burger joint, we’ve got everything you’ll need to know when planning your next (or first) visit!

    What to Wear:

This spot is Louisville’s ideal date destination. So ladies, put on a casual dress; and guys, tuck your shirt in. But if you’re one of the city’s many singles, this is a great place to dine with friends or family in casual attire. There’s no shame in your single game when there are burgers involved!

    Where to Park:

Mussel & Burger Bar’s Taylorsville Road location offers a parking lot for its guests. However, the restaurant’s new downtown location offers street parking. Keep in mind that street parking is free after 6pm and all day on Sunday.

    What to Order:

For those who prefer the surf over the turf, we recommend the Blue Cheese Beer Pancetta Mussels. These mussels are served in a buttery combination of Belgium dark ale and garlic, and are topped with plenty of crumbled blue cheese and savory pancetta. When the waiter asks if you saved room for dessert, be brave and order the Maple Glazed Bacon Beignets. Your taste buds will thank you.

Burger lovers will adore the B.B.B. (also known as the Bacon Breakfast Burger). Pork belly glazed with maple syrup, maple syrup aioli, caramelized onions, a fried egg and white cheddar join forces to top this incredible burger. And served with an order of sweet potato fries with pineapple dipping sauce, it’s everything you’ve ever loved about breakfast all in one out of this world meal.

And don’t worry, vegetarians, Mussel & Burger Bar didn’t forget about you! The restaurant’s Vegetarian burger is the only one of its kind in the entire city. A heavy portion of quinoa and beets are combined to make this burger’s deliciously soft and delicate patty, which is then topped with fresh goat cheese and black olive aioli and served on a pretzel bun. We recommend ordering an irresistible scoop of homemade pistachio ice cream to end your meal.

    How Much:

Guests can enjoy a burger and fries, dessert and a specialty cocktail at this burger joint for $18 - $32. Prices of mussels vary on quantity and specialty.

    Wait Time:

Expect to wait at either of this restaurant’s locations for up for an hour on weekend nights. A wait time is also probable during lunch hours at the downtown location. All other times, expect wait times to be less than 15 minutes.

Mussel and Burger Bar is located at 9200 Taylorsville Road and 113 S. 7th Street.
