Dr. James D. Watson, who shared the 1962 Nobel Prize for Physiology with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins, will present a free talk, “Curing Incurable Cancer,” at 10 a.m. this coming Thursday, May 5 at the Brown Theater, 315 W. Broadway.
More than 50 years after the team identified the double helical structure of deoxyribonucleic acid, Watson and Crick’s discovery remains as one of the world’s greatest scientific breakthroughs, and his 1969 memoir The Double Helix is a nonfiction classic. Admission is free but reservations are required; call 562-8021 or e-mail Andrea Tankersley, andrea.tankersley@louisville.edu.
