The Light in the Piazza is a musical that features Clara Johnson, a twenty-something American on tour of Italy in the summer of 1953 with her mother Margaret.  She falls for the young Italian Fabrizio Naccarelli after he retrieves her hat that had blown away.  As their romance ignites, Margaret hopes to extinguish it...for reasons unknown to Clara that may later prove to be dangerous.

The Light to the Piazza based on Elizabeth Spencer's book, features Adam Guettel's music and lyrics and Craig Lucas's book.  For As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company, Sandy Richens Cohrs directed the production.

Before premiering with As Yet Unnamed, The Light in the Piazza was a success on Broadway.  The production originated on Broadway in 2005 and ran for more than 500 shows at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.  The production earned a Tony Award for best Score and a Drama Desk award.

Following Light in the Piazza, As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company will present Urinetown.  The musical will run in March and April, 2013.
