Okay so, every year New Years Eve is hyped up to epic proportions. Add in the fact that for the past few years, Louisville plays Kentucky on this same night, it's bound to be crazy. For me, it's always the same plans. Buy a new sparkly dress and shoes, get your hair and make up done, spend an outrageous amount of money for a cover charge, which, if you're lucky, includes two drink vouchers and an Andres champagne toast at midnight. On a normal night the bars in Louisville are a nightmare to begin with, think sardines if you will. Throw in New Years when people who never go out, decide tonight is the best night to start going out, and you're in for a real treat.
You'll send half the night battling crowds to get to the bar and get those two free drinks, and the other half wandering around trying to figure out if that ridiculously long line is for the bathroom or the bar!
But, the city of Louisville has really stepped up their game this year. There are some really great options for various levels of partiers. Hotels, Bars and Restaurants have made some great packages available. Here are some that I myself am considering. (Yes I know we are a few days away from New Years Eve and I still have yet to make any definite plans, don't remind me!):
Prime Lounge-- $14 includes 1 drink and champagne toast at midnight. VIP Package,2 Bottle minimum howeverGrey Goose is the only vodka that night and its $150 for a liter bottle.
21C Hotel Package- $319 + tax includes 2 NYE tickets. Or you can chose to just dance- $40 per person includes 2 cocktails and champagne at midnight.
FIX tickets $15 per person or tables that start at $300 up to $600.
PBR Louisville-VIP tables- private table, for you and up to 8 guests, cover to all bars waived, private cocktail waitress, 2 bottles and 1 bottle of champagne to help ring in the new year. Tables start at $600 or $75 a person.
The Gillespie $60 per person $85 VIP
Tin Roof- $200 table, free bottle of champagne and well bottles, mixers included.
