If you’ve been in Louisville for a while, you’ve probably heard of or been to The Brewery over on Baxter Avenue. If so, you might know that it was purchased earlier in the year by , a group of restaurateurs that are dedicated to keeping some of Louisville’s slipping restaurants in business. Since they purchased The Brewery, they’ve been planning to rebrand and remodel, and the end of the month marks a two-week shutdown for intense remodeling. If you like The Brewery, it’s last call before it becomes Ward 426.
In celebration of the last month in business before rebranding, there’s going to be a special bar menu available featuring some of the most popular dishes from The Brewery’s history. Cheese fries, Jalapeno poppers, and fried pickles with spicy mayo top the list, so if you’re a fan of some of these bar classics, stopping in is a definite must. The prices are great too, but you only have a couple weeks left, so you better hurry up!
As far as the relaunch goes, the new restaurant is going for a more upscale/lounge feeling. will be doing the interior design, so you know it’s going to be a class act. Combine that with the new menu by Chef Shawn Ward (formerly executive chef at Jack Fry’s, and the restaurant’s new namesake) and you have a classy and upscale restaurant opening in mid-October.
The menu hasn’t yet been finalized, but Nirmesh Agrawal of Louisville Eats Good says there are plans for a considerable vegetarian menu. “A section (of the menu) will be dedicated to vegetarians,” he said. “There will be 3 or 4 appetizers and 3 or 4 entrees.” Knowing Ward’s reputation for some impressive culinary creations, those choices will probably be out of this world.
Ward 426 will be opening sometime in mid-October. Keep an eye on Louisville.com for more details as the opening approaches.
