Bourbony Recipes For Your Next Back Yard Barbecue

Summer is finally here.  It’s time to slough off the memories of those -5° days and start making new, warmer memories.  We’ll be celebrating our country’s independence next weekend, and for many that means a back yard barbecue.  Here are 5 recipes that will help you put a bourbon-y spin on your celebration!

    • You have to have grilled meat on the Fourth of July, and nothing says summer quite like a rack of ribs.  This recipe for bourbon and brown sugar ribs is sure to please, and if you want to really kick up the bourbon flavor you could use bourbon barrel aged spices from Bourbon Barrel Foods.

    • The Grillin Fools’ website is full of tried and true recipes, such as this one for grilled bourbon baked beans.  The best part of this recipe is you can throw it in a Dutch oven right on the grill with the rest of your meal so you don’t heat your house up cooking!

    • Tim Laird, America’s Chief Entertaining Officer, recently shared this recipe for a “bourbon breeze,” a summery bourbon cocktail you can scale up to make by the pitcher:
      • 1.5 ounces Woodford or Old Forester
      • 2 ounces lemonade (he recommends Simply Lemonade)
      • 1 ounce cranberry juice
      • Dash bitters
      • Mint garnish
